charachter profile: Ann Putnam

Anne Putnam
Age-
12 years old (in 1692)
Parents- Thomas and Ann Putnam
Position- leader of the "circle girls" (The girls who accusations triggered the witch trials)
Meeting place for the "circle girls" Betty Paris' house
Friends- Betty Paris' and Abigail Williams
why is she important?- Ann Putnam was one of the first victums of "witchcraft". (Ann would go to Betty Paris' house and with play magic games with Betty's nanny Tituba. They played one game where they dumped an egg in the water to see what shape it made. Once when they were playing, the egg formed the shape of a coffin. After that, the girls started having wierd symptums such as behaving strangely, babbling, convulsing, or staring blankly. When they were sent to court to recount what had happened, Ann accused Tituba and other people of being a witch. Ann ended up accusing over 62 people that year, including her parents.
What happened to Ann after the witchcraft subsided?- Since Ann accused her parents of witchcraft, was left to raise her nine brothers and sisters by herself. She also wrote an apology to the church in 1706. I don't think Anne Hutchinson was apart of the Salem Witch Trials. I did a project this year that had a lot to do with her and she was from England I think and she went to massachusetts and she got kicked out becuase she was going against the colonies religion, saying that she had a relevation from God. I'll show you it if you want. Look into it.
