letter

June 2 1692
Dear Mary,I have some new to tell you. I was accused of witchcraft. I just received a letter in the mail. It said that I am to attend a second trial for being a witch. I was already sent to trial in 1680 and I was lucky to make it out of there. I do not under any circumstances want to go, but I convinced them one and I will convince them again. Yet again, I do not have such a clean record. I bet you it was that horrid Anne lady! She has been accusing everyone. Oh I would bet a great deal and say that it was indeed her. I must admit, I am terrified. I never thought that anybody would find out about my voodoo dolls that I had hidden in my basement. You are a great friend for not telling my secret. I will never tell anyone that you know.I hope this is not my last letter to you.
I love you forever and always
Bridget Bishop

(Bridget Bishop was found guilty of being a witch and was hung on June 10 1692 at Gallows Hill)
